The latest installment from the 16 year battle to prevent the opening a huge mosque in East London happened on 04/05/16 at the Royal Court of Justice.
An application by the trustees of the proposed West Ham mega-mosque for the right to appeal against the Government’s rejection of their plans was refused.
The presiding judge went out of his way to highlight the London Borough of Newham`s extraordinary generosity in twice providing temporary planning permission for the mosque. He also cited the trustees refusal to come up with plans for a mixed-use development of the site despite promising that they would.
The trustees are now obliged by written agreements to leave the site and demolish the current buildings.
But the smart money says that an appeal to the European Court of Human Rights will follow…..unless of course we vote Brexit.
